The contactor was ready to drill holes in the floor in order to set the tub. This is a great example of why you need infrared cameras. Our cameras picked up the heating tubes thus saving the contractor from flooding the entire house! From: Infra Red Photos |

How to Upgrade Aluminum Circuit Wiring
Aluminum circuit wires are known to fail and become loose
at the area where they are connected to the switch, outlet
or fixture. This connection failure has been known to cause
overheating which may lead to a fire. There is only one reliable
and safe way to upgrade the connections without rewiring the
entire structure with new copper wires. This video shows the
basic procedure called the Cop-Alum Crimp Method. Please make
sure that your volume is turned up when you play the video
clip. |

Picture of the Month
This is a picture of an IDEAL purple #65 wire nut. These wire nuts are often used in attempt to upgrade or repair defective aluminum branch circuit wiring connections. This picture shows why the CSPC (consumer Products Safety Commission) considers this to be an unacceptable method of repair. In fact, the purple wire nuts can be more prone to failure than leaving the circuit wire connected to the receptacle or fixture. These wire nuts are not intended for a complete home retrofit. |
Testimonial From David Meier - Meier Construction Services:
"I just wanted to thank you for your professional efforts pertaining
to the inspection you gave me at 119 Hawn. In the most positive way,
I feel you went over the top to explain to me all of the issues and
dynamics of the home I purchased. I have been through a lot of inspections
for homeowners. You are the most thorough inspector that I have worked
with and I would recommend you to anyone. Thanks again for your help!"
